Thank You Shepherd Dads!

We want to thank everyone who came to Shepherd PTO’s First Annual Donuts With Dad this morning! We had an overwhelming crowd (estimated 250+ people), packed the cafeteria and had a line up around the perimeter and out the door into the hallway. This superseded our expectations and we are so excited to have all the dads come in with their kids. We sincerely apologize to those that did not get a donut! Next year we’ll be sure to start earlier and be better prepared for such a large crowd! Thanks again for your support!

Sincerely,
Shepherd PTO

Calling all Dads that like Donuts!

Just a reminder that "Donuts With Dad" is tomorrow morning, Wednesday, May 28th: 7:15am-7:35am in the cafeteria. Fresh donuts straight from the bakery, hot coffee and orange juice will be served. Students may bring their dad or another guest. After enjoying your donuts, visit the 1/2 Price Book Fair in the Library to stock up on summer reading materials (Book Fair opens around 7:30am).

Hope to see all the Dad's tomorrow morning!

Volunteer of the Year

We would like to recognize Karen Brannen for being chosen by Shepherd Teachers and Staff as Volunteer of the Year at Shepherd Elementary for 2007-08.

Karen is available at least one day a week for the teachers of her two children at Shepherd. She has done an excellent job as Treasurer on the PTO Board, and assists with many other projects to make Shepherd a better place for students, staff and parents. In all her assistance, her genuine care for the children and appreciation of the staff shines through.

A luncheon was held at First Baptist Church in Statesville to recognize all of the Volunteer of the Year recipients for ISS. Everyone enjoyed fabulous music from the Statesville High School Steel Drum Band after the meal. Each volunteer was recognized with short accolades by a staff member. Click here for event photos.
